Custom Bowie knife hand-crafted in 1985 by the late Lou Hegedus of Cave Spring, Georgia - the same year Hegedus was profiled in Knife World magazine. Stamped Serial #2, making it a very early piece from his 1985 bench run. Hegedus is best known for traditional hunters and high-end folders, so this heavy-duty build stands out. It captures the mid-1980s survival knife boom with a precision-knurled hollow handle and threaded butt cap, in the style made popular by makers like Jimmy Lile. Specs: Maker - Lou Hegedus (Cave Spring, GA). Year - 1985. Serial - #2, stamped beneath the date code. Blade - clip-point Bowie with deep satin finish, approx. 8.5 in. Overall length - approx. 14 in. Handle - hollow survival handle with diamond-pattern knurling and removable threaded aluminum cap. Guard - heavy-duty steel double-hilt crossguard. Sheath - original custom-fit heavy brown leather belt scabbard with reinforced perimeter stitching. A strong piece for custom knife collectors.
